Artist. Mother. Designer. Traveler.

A life of looking closely.

An architectural eye. An artist’s heart.

Beauty became
a language.

I’m Nirvana Ray—a photographer, designer, mother and world explorer. I create visual stories about the character of a place, the feeling of a room, and the people we become through experiencing the world.

I grew up surrounded by antiques, art, mid-century furniture and objects collected across cultures. Beauty was never simply decoration; it was history, curiosity and a way of making a home. A father who worked as a general contractor gave that instinct a practical side: an appreciation for materials, restoration and the work of bringing an idea to life.

A B.A. in Architecture gave me a vocabulary for what I had always noticed—light, proportion, texture and the relationship between people and space. Photography became another way to explore it.

Motherhood in motion

Motherhood is not a separate chapter from my creative life. It is one of the reasons I look so closely.

Of the twenty-six countries I’ve explored, fourteen have been shared with my son. Traveling together has taught me to notice more than landmarks: the conversation over a meal, the small discovery down a side street, the way an unfamiliar place becomes part of our shared memory.

I create for women and families who believe motherhood can be a reason to experience more life—not a reason to make themselves smaller. That perspective brings warmth, curiosity and lived experience to the stories I tell for destinations, hotels and brands.

Many disciplines.
One way of seeing.

My work moves between photography, interiors, restoration and brand storytelling. The thread is the same: recognizing character, composing with intention, and helping someone else see the possibility.

01

Spaces + experience

Twelve years in food and beverage hospitality taught me to notice the details that shape a guest’s experience. Real estate, property management and staging added an understanding of how spaces function, photograph and invite people in.

Nirvana’s Nest

During the pandemic, as a single mother, I turned an instinct for overlooked pieces into an independent vintage business. Five years of sourcing, restoring, styling and photographing furniture became an ongoing study in character, craftsmanship and creating beauty from what already exists.

Stories + connection

Travel and portrait photography, cinematic short-form video and relatable UGC bring that experience into visual stories for destinations, properties and brands. Thoughtful composition matters. So does giving someone a reason to feel connected.
